Great airline / pubic interest story!!!!!!!
I am a parent of a 19 year old child that went home to new york with his fiance and 5 month old son to visit her blind mother and are now stuck because of Jet Blue airlines mistake. My daughter in law to be got her airline ticket for her birthday from her mother and my wife and I as a gift. My son was unable to go when we booked the flight originally because he was scheduled to work and we could not afford it. A couple of weeks later he took what little money he was saving for there wedding and decided to buy a ticket and go with them. He did not want them to fly alone since she had never flown before and was very nervous. He went on line and purchased a ticket on the same flights as she was booked on Jet Blue airlines. They left last week and had a wonderful time visiting her family. That all stopped tonight when he went on line to check in with Jet Blue airlines for his return boarding ticket. He checked in the baby and his fiance but was unable to check in himself. He called the airlines which now informed him that he was not on the same flight but a flight that was the same number and time the following day. Jet Blue told him there is nothing they could do unless he paid them $100.00 transfer fee and $134.88 for the difference between the cost of the flights. He called use here in florida in a panic. He did not know what to do. Her mom had arranged someone to take them to the airport in the city for tuesday and there was no way for him to get to the airport the following day. My Wife called the airlines and explained to them what was going on they told her if she could not pay the $234.88 that there was nothing they would do. She asked to speak to a supervisor and Lynn (#7345) got on the phone with her she was heartless and rude and unwilling to do anything for use. My wife asked to speak to someone else that was over her and she went on to tell my wife that this is why they pay me so no one bothers anyone above her. This is an airline that had a $817 million dollar Gross profit last year. That says they pride them selves on customer service and want everyone to have a great experience on there airline. What bull shit are they handing out. It seems that they do not care about anyone at all other then themselves and there profit margin. It is now 11pm and my wife and I are on the phone with everyone we can think of to find a way to either get this money or someone to take him to the airport the next day. I will never fly Jet Blue airlines again and I will make sure that everyone hires about this. I am a US veteran with one son serving this great nation as we speak and another stranded in new york because the profits of a multi million dollar company may suffer over a couple of hundred dollars. MY wife only asked if they could please wave one of these fees so we could afford to switch this flight. My son now will have to spend the night in a airport in new york city so he is able to catch his flight and come home to all of use. I hope he will be safe!!!! I will begin lobbying my state government to change these laws that should protect the passengers and not the airlines. We bailed these airlines out over and over again is it not time they give something back.
